The Mindset Behind the Wheel: What Racing Teaches Our President About Leading CSCI

Daniel Goldburg doesn't just build things. He races them.

Most people who know Dan know him as the President of CSCI — the person setting the vision, building the team, and driving the company forward in Florida's competitive construction market. But on some weekends, you'll find him somewhere else entirely: behind the wheel of a race car at some of the most demanding tracks in the world.

On Saturday, March 21, Dan co-drove the #22 United Autosports USA entry to a second-place finish at the 74th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring — part of a historic one-two sweep for United Autosports in the LMP2 class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It was a remarkable result. What's even more remarkable is what a race like Sebring reveals about the person leading our company every single day.

Adversity Doesn't Stop You. It Redirects You.

The #22 car didn't have a perfect race. Early setbacks (like a spin and an unplanned pit stop) put the team in a tough spot before the race was even in full swing. For many, that's where the story ends.

Not for Dan and his team.

They made their repairs, regrouped, and fought their way back into contention over the remaining hours. By the time the checkered flag flew, they were standing on the podium. That ability to absorb a setback, reset, and keep executing without losing confidence in the plan? That's not just a racing skill. That's a leadership skill, and it's one CSCI's customers and partners experience every single day.

Trusting Your Team Is Everything

Twelve hours is a long time to be in a race car. But no driver wins alone. Dan shared the #22 entry with teammates Rasmus Lindh and Paul Di Resta, and their result was a product of three drivers trusting each other completely — and trusting the crew in the pit lane to make the right calls under pressure.

At CSCI, we talk about “team” constantly. The best outcomes for our customers, our projects, and our people come from knowing your role, trusting the people around you, and executing together. That's a philosophy Dan lives at the track and brings to the office every day.

Staying Calm When the Pressure Peaks

Sebring is famous for exactly one thing: it never gets easier. Twelve hours of bumps, heat, and competition has a way of revealing exactly who someone is when the stakes are highest. The final stretch of this race was a frantic sprint to the finish, with everything on the line and no margin for error.

The CSCI #22 team delivered. A second-place finish and the LMP2 Championship lead — 662 points, first place in the standings — are the results of someone who doesn't just perform when things are going well. He performs when they aren't.

That's the kind of leadership CSCI is built on.

Why It Matters to Us

We're proud of a lot of things at CSCI. Our people. Our relationships. The work we do every day for our customers across Florida. But we're also proud of the person at the top of this company — someone who doesn't just talk about grit, resilience, and the will to win.

He proves it on one of the most unforgiving race tracks in the world.

Congratulations, Dan. We'll see you at Watkins Glen. 🏁
